On May 12th, the Initiative for Global Security, the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, and the Nuclear Threat Initiative collaborated for a virtual discussion about using the GHS Index as a decision-making tool for Latin American audiences. The webinar, which was broadcast live in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, featured GHS Index co-lead Jessica Bell and International Panel of Expert member Ernesto Gozzer alongside Dr. Ricardo Teijeiro from the Argentine Society of Infectology and Mr. Luis Carrera Fox from Mexico’s AmexBio/PandemicTech. It aimed to inform Latin American decision makers about the GHS Index and the depth of research and international collaboration behind it. First released in 2019, the Index is a powerful tool that can be used by countries around the world to inform planning and decision making on global health security priorities. A second edition of the GHS Index will be released later this year. The webinar can be viewed here.
